Tennessee Fisher House

The Tennessee Fisher House – Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center, Murfreesboro, Tennessee

The General Francis Nash Chapter NSDAR is proud to contribute to the construction and support the Tennessee Fisher House in Murfreesboro. The Fisher House program supports America’s military in their time of need while they are receiving medical care at military and Veteran medical centers. In many cases, the geographic separation from these facilities and the service member patient’s families is significant, making it difficult and costly for family members to be with the patient during care. Fisher House seeks to provide these families with “a home away from home” so that they can provide support to their service member while they are obtaining medical care. Fisher House has locations across the country, in Landstuhl, Germany, and in early 2013, in Birmingham, England. The site in Murfreesboro will be the first in Tennessee, having begun construction in 2012. From 2010 through 2012, General Francis Nash Chapter NSDAR contributed over $1,430 towards the construction of the Fisher House in Tennessee.
