Welcome!

Buffalo River Chapter NSDAR took its name from the Buffalo River that rises in northwestern Lawrence County. The course of the river is in the shape of an "L", and flows westward through northern Lawrence, southern Lewis, and northern Wayne Counties to Flatwoods in Perry County. It then turns northward and flows through Perry and Humphreys Counties to its confluence with the Duck River. Buffalo River area is rich in ancient history, and artifacts dating back ten thousand years have been found. The river is noted for its scenic beauty and is now known as a "float stream".

We welcome any woman for membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, who is over 18 years of age and who is descended from a man or woman who aided in achieving American independence during the period between April 19, 1775, and November 26, 1783. Information on membership in the DAR can be found here.

The Buffalo River Chapter meets monthly, September through May, unless otherwise noted. If you would like to attend one of our meetings, please contact us for location.

Buffalo River Chapter also sponsors William Diamond Society, Children of the American Revolution. For more information, please see our WDS/C.A.R. page.
