Membership in DAR

Do you have an American Revolutionary War Patriot in your family tree? Participation in this organization helps us to honor and remember the courage and sacrifices, made for our benefit, by men and women we never knew, but whose blood flows in our veins. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization.

About DAR

DAR was founded in 1890 by a group of pioneering women who were frustrated by their exclusion from men’s patriotic organizations.

Today, more than 1,000,000 members have joined in the founders’ footsteps. They continue to honor their determination and love of country through grassroots volunteer work. When you join DAR, you join a network of passionate women. It is their desire to serve our country and preserve our heritage for future generations.

Celebrate God, Home, and Country

Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR.

Do you believe that one of your ancestors may have served in the American Revolutionary War? If so, our chapter registrar can help you prepare and submit your application for verification.

If you have recently moved to the area and want to transfer to our chapter, then we would love to help you do that! Just fill out the Contact Us form.
