DAR is one of the most inclusive genealogy societies in the country. The DAR currently boasts more than 170,000 women as members. Membership honors and preserves the legacy of your patriot ancestor. As a member of the DAR,  you can continue their legacy through your participation in the Society's various programs and activities by actively supporting historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavor.

 We welcome all women regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, as long as they are no less than eighteen years of age and can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. Women must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.

To get the membership process started, email our registrar your email address, mailing address, and whether you are a new or transfer applicant, along with any helpful information, such as whether you had relatives in DAR.
