MEMBERSHIP
in the NSDAR is a unique opportunity to honor your lineage and heritage as a descendant of a patriot of the American Revolution. These American Patriots fought and sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today. As a member of DAR, participating in the Society’s various programs and activities, you can continue this legacy by actively supporting our mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Old Glory Members
are a group of women with differing backgrounds, experiences, and personalities. We respect those differences, drawing strength from being united in purpose. We enjoy being together and celebrate our common bond of a love for our country, a desire to preserve the memories of the patriots of the American Revolution, and a commitment to make a valuable contribution in Franklin and Williamson County, Tennessee.
Encourage One Another
There are many ways in which DAR members encourage and support each other. We assist prospective members throughout the process of preparing their applications for membership both in genealogy workshops and on an individual basis. We join together in chapter activities, events, and projects; and in so doing, develop friendships that extend beyond the chapter and into everyday life.
Connect Through Service
The investment our members make through our chapter is deeply personal and provides opportunities for creating bonds that transcend the chapter’s activities. Sharing common interests, our members join together to collect and distribute clothing and personal items to DAR-sponsored schools, contribute ongoing support to veterans and American Indian communities, knit helmet liners for the overseas military in combat areas. As we unite in service, rewarding friendships develop.
Welcome New Members
Old Glory provides a variety of entry points for women interested in becoming members of DAR. Whether it is meeting for a cup of coffee during the day or an evening casual meet and greet, we consider it an honor to meet and come alongside you in your journey to become a Daughter of the American Revolution.
