General William Lee Davidson Chapter, NSDAR

Nashville, Tennessee

About Us

The General William Lee Davidson Chapter, NSDAR, was chartered on November 5, 1948 in Davidson County, Tennessee. During the first official meeting, held December 9, 1948, the new regent read the telegram from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in which the acceptance of the chapter into the organization was confirmed.

Our chapter is named in honor of General William Lee Davidson, an American Revolutionary War Patriot.

Chapter Highlights

One of our chapter members received multiple awards, including Tennessee State Women in the Arts Recognition, for her original song composition, Nanyehi (When Will We Ever Learn?), written to honor her American Revolutionary War Patriot, Nancy Ward.

The General William Lee Davidson Chapter, NSDAR, conducted a wonderful event that celebrated the 275th birthday of General William Lee Davidson. He was an American Revolutionary War hero from North Carolina and Davidson County, Tennessee.

Our chapter has actively supported the Women’s Suffrage Monument displayed at Nashville’s Centennial Park.
