OUR MISSION

The mission of the NSDAR is to preserve American history, secure America’s future through better education for children, and promote patriotism in our communities.

OUR MEMBERS SERVING TSDAR

TSDAR State Regent Emily Robinson

Emily Robinson joined the Cumberland Chapter, NSDAR in 1999, where she served as the Chapter Regent, 1st Vice Regent, 2nd Vice Regent, Recording Secretary, and as numerous committee chairs. Ms. Robinson has served the Tennessee Society DAR as State 1st Vice Regent, 2nd Vice Regent, State Conference Co-chair, District Secretary, and in other state chair and vice chair positions. In service to our veterans, she represented the TSDAR as a VAVS Deputy Representative for six years. Taking advantage of the many opportunities offered to DAR members, she entered and won 3rd place in the NSDAR American Heritage contest and 2nd place with other chapter members. Ms. Robinson serves on the Tennessee 250th Commission and on the Programs and Promotions Committee of the KDS DAR School. She currently serves as the TSDAR State Regent.

TSDAR 2022 Outstanding Junior

Rebecca Vaughn is currently a Faculty Fellow teaching undergrad history. She is also a professional artist and has taught art therapy classes to over 125 veterans in partnership with the Wounded Warrior Project. As a 13-year Cumberland Chapter member, she has served as a TSDAR Chapter Chair, Chapter Officer, State Club Officer, State Chair and State Vice Chair on numerous committees, and as a proofreader for the State Regent’s book project. She has received several NSDAR and TSDAR awards, including the NSDAR Centennial Scholarship, the NSDAR Historic Preservation Recognition Award, 1st Place in the TSDAR Historic Preservation Project Contest, and, most recently, the 2022 State VIS of the Year Award. She is a member of the NSDAR National Outstanding Juniors Club, TSDAR Junior Society, TSDAR Page Club, TSDAR State Chairman’s Club, and the NSDAR Legacy Program. Rebecca currently serves as a State Vice Chair of the Patriot Book Project and a State Vice Chair of Social Media.
