The Colonel Hardy Murfree Chapter, NSDAR, kicked off July 4th, 2020, with our second annual reading of the Declaration of Independence on the Rutherford County Courthouse steps. Our program included musical elements, readings, and great community fellowship. Also in attendance were members of the Rutherford County Historical Society, Stones River C.A.R. members (presenting and attending), and local Sons of the American Revolution members in full Revolutionary period dress!

We had a great Chapter Christmas party and celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. New members were inducted, NSDAR Docent Karen Hudson presented a program on Christmas Songs of the Past and Robert (Hoot) Gibson played Christmas songs on the bagpipe. It was a fun evening.
