For Prospective DAR Members
DAR was founded in 1890 by a group of pioneering women who were frustrated by their exclusion from men’s patriotic organizations.
Today, more than 1,000,000 members have joined in the founders’ footsteps and continue to honor their determination and love of country through grassroots volunteer work. When you join DAR you join a network of women passionate about serving our country and preserving our heritage for future generations.
If you live in Shelby County or are new to the Memphis area and believe that one of your ancestors may have served in the American Revolutionary War, we would love for you to join us!
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR.
New to genealogy? No problem!
Our members and volunteer genealogist are available to help you throughout the process of discovering your Patriot ancestor.
For NSDAR Members and Transfers
The Chucalissa Chapter, NSDAR welcomes transfers from other chapters and associate members.
