James McKamy/McKamey was born 1-13-1753, Augusta County, Virginia. Died 5-2-1845, Blount County, Tennessee. Married to Agnes (Nancy) Telford/Tedford. Name on marker is James McKamy, but chapter members’ research found the name McKamey used elsewhere. The name on his son’s marker in the same cemetery is “David McKamey.”
The cemetery is known as Old Seceder Church Cemetery. It was the site of the Pistol Creek branch of the Big Springs Seceder Presbyterian Church, established in early 1800s, now the location of Fellowship Baptist Church. Located at the intersection of Morganton Road and Big Springs in Maryville, Tennessee.
