Mt. Zion Cemetery is located about 25 miles south of Maryville, in Vonore, Monroe County, Tennessee.
John Sims had the rank of Private and served three years in the Cavalry, North Carolina State Troops, Continental Line. John Sims was the 5th great-grandfather of a Mary Blount Chapter member. His grave was dedicated and marked on April 30, 2016.
